Play, Learn, Grow.

Portland’s thriving Cantonese-speaking community faces a shortage of opportunities to learn and preserve our heritage language. While Cantonese natives were the first Chinese immigrants to America, existing programs focus exclusively on Mandarin, creating a gap for Cantonese-speaking families children's linguistic development.

We focus on supporting children while in the “golden window” period, from 0-5 years when brain development is most rapid and early experiences have the greatest influence on lifelong learning, behavior, and well-being.

Benefits of Early Cantonese Learning

Our Mission

Our mission is to connect Cantonese-speaking families by providing a nurturing environment where young children can develop strong language skills and deepen their connection to Cantonese culture. Through interactive language lessons, cultural activities, and community engagement, we empower families to celebrate and preserve their heritage while fostering bilingualism in the next generation.

Our Goals

  • Language Development

Cantonese instruction through songs, games, and play, focusing on vocabulary building, conversational fluency, and comprehension.

  • Cultural Connection

Host tradition informed events and activities that immerse children and families in Cantonese culture and customs.

  • Community Building

Provide a supportive community for Cantonese-speaking families to share resources, sustain cultural continuity, and foster a sense of belonging.
